Greetings from innerspace.
We've just finished up an AWESOME mini-tour with The Promonium Jesters & The Kettle Black, as well as 2 music videos with
some students from Confederation College (which will be broadcast sometime in December on Thunder Bay Television).
Pictures from the last night of the tour are available on the "visuals" page. Free download of live soundboard recordings
to come, as well as some sweet video!
We had so much fun going back on the road with Promonium, that we are going to do it again very soon!
If this tour convinced us of anything, it's that you haven't seen anything til' you've seen the Promonium live show!!
It's also solidified belief that The Kettle Black is one of North America's hidden treasures. Like the last man after
the apocalypse.
You'll notice that the webpage is slowly getting overhauled. First we'll deal with the graphics. In the coming weeks,
everything will be overhauled, including the addition of Paypal ordering of merch.
Be on the lookout for the "Sex, Drugs & 808's" single. It really packs a punch, and will only set you back $3.00 through the
mail!
Time to get some sleep.
Until further updates.....

Good news on a few fronts!!
Our Southern Ontario fans can now catch us live starting on October 25th! We'll be playing 3 shows down south with The Kettle Black,
and The Promonium Jesters!!

October 25th - The Coach & Horses - Windsor, Ont
October 26th - High Art For The Low Down - Toronto, Ontario
October 27th - Bar None - Kingston, Ontario

and we end this tour RIGHT HERE in Thunder Bay on the 31st of October w/ The Promonium Jesters, and a TON of other bands:

The OTHER BIG NEWS is that on October 25th, we'll be releasing our brand new single!

"Sex, Drugs & 808's" plays out like an anthem. Myke leads. You'll chant just the same.
"Heads Will Roll" takes Drum & Bass and throws it in a blender with 80's Hardcore. Amy leads.
This single comes packaged in a 4-fold poster sleeve, and will be available for a scant $3.00
Check it out on our Myspace!!
We'll also have new "Glass" shirts available for the tour!!!!!

These are only available in red and blue on a 50/50 heavyweight shirt. As always, handscreened by Myke himself.

Presently we're shuffling to get the tour ready, and we're also in the process of shooting some videos.
Things are always hectic at Adaptive central
Paypal ordering, as well as download purchasing are on their way!
Anyhow......pick up the new single, and come out to support us in southern Ontario!

Unfortunate news for us. Nicholas has decided that due to present time constraints, he must part ways with Adaptive. Effective as of now.
We put in an awesome year and change with him, toured canada, released some stuff. I'd write a big long teary eyed bit, but he knows he'll
be missed.
So we're now on the lookout for a new guitarist. A successful candidate will have experience, flexibility, and be comfortable on stage.
You must also be willing and able to tour (as we're working on one for October, and a couple for the spring). Contrary to how easy it looks,
Adaptive is a VERY demanding band. You have to know your shit.
Being of legal drinking age is manditory (especially for tour, as a lot of bars on the road won't be as understanding as ones in town), and having
a driver's liscence is a plus. A strict work ethic is required, and you must be dead serious about doing this. We don't fuck around.
I don't know about the next little bit, but even if we don't have a local guitarist lined up for October, the southern ontario tour will proceed
as planned with a talented lad from that area. Anyhow, e-mail Myke for a chance to get in on the auditions.

After an extended period of not being able to update the webpage, I`m not overly jazzed to announce that the Unter Null show on August 20th has been
cancelled. Unfortunately such things happen. But we have some good news on the tail of that, we've been added to the bill for LEFT SPINE DOWN on
September 16th (LSD, Adaptive, Spazmod, w/ Doran & Perosity spinning between sets!).
I wasn't able to have this on the page in time, but we played Pier 61 last night, and it was AWESOME. All of the bands kicked some serious ass! Pictures to follow!
New songs have been prepped, and hopefully by next week, they'll be ready for recording. The next E.P. is tentatively titled "In Colour", and should have about
5 or 6 brand new tracks on it. I'm hoping we can try some of them out live at the next show (which will be at the Outpost. Check shows for info). Either way, it'll
be different.

---------------------------
07 July 2008 - 7:16 A.M.
---------------------------

More upcoming shows! On August 20th, we open for Unter Null & C.A.T. @ Kilroy's. 5th September brings us to the L.U. Radio benefit "Music for the masses" @
The Outpost! Check the "shows" page for posters and more details.
Myke has just re-vamped Apoplectic studios in preperation to work on material for an upcoming E.P. slated for sometime in September or October (as far as it looks,
it's gonna be heavy). As well, we're hard at work on the "This Is Glass" remix E.P., and a re-issue of the entire "Salvation" album (which will be re-mastered, and
include not just bonus tracks from the "Salvation" era, but most likely the entire "Diskust" e.p. which has been out of print since 2002).
Taking somewhat of a step backwards in technology(but forwards in the grand scheme of things), the Apoplectic control room now includes 1/2" and 1/4" open reel
tape machines as part of the process to add extra crunch to the glitchy drum loops, boom to the bass, and warmth to the overall mix.
More news later!

---------------------------
22 Jun 2008 - 6:15 P.M.
---------------------------

Smells like cooked flesh and flux.
We're currently in the studio working on a remix E.P. of "This Is Glass", which will feature remixes by Movimento Inglesi and The Promonium Jesters. If you'd like
to contribute a mix, get in touch. We'll have a remix kit available in a few days. This special E.P. will also feature
new material, as well as an Adaptive-style cover. Clarity may just be the mode of the project.
Come check us out next Saturday at "ROCK A MANIA" at The Black Pirate's Pub. Should be a fun night, and well worth the cover charge.
We'd also like to say thanks to everybody who has been so supportive since we put out "Glass".

Tour.....
....was fucking awesome. Had a lot of fun going across this ugly rock with The Promonium Jesters. Absolutely no regrets about it. I'm about $800.00 lighter in the bank account, but on a whole, it was most definately worth it. If you're on a trip out west and want to go to the best night spots:
Soda in Calgary was awesome! Small room, but a very community vibe. Fun crowd, great show!
Red Room in Vancouver kicked ass! Huge crowd, awesome DJ's, and a VERY supportive dark music community. One of two green rooms of the tour, and this one had free beer!
Walker's in Saskatoon. I can't say ENOUGH good things about this club. Chase is an awesome fellow with great taste in EBM and softcore porn of the 70's. The crowd were all very cool, and I can't wait to see them again.
The other shows bordered between fun, and bizarre (one being in a sports bar). We did what we had to do, had a lot of fun doing it, and supported most of the tour through merch sales. I was impressed with everybody, and I think I've fallen in love with Vancouver.

I'll really miss the guys in Promonium:
Ethan: I've known him since 2000, but haven't really been able to sit down and talk with him, due to distance. All we did on tour was talk. Awesome taste in music, movies, etc. This man's drive is amazing. Funny as hell, and always looking on the bright side of it. "Hey guys, the club isn't a club anymore. But tonight's gonna be awesome anyways."

Dave: This man is a walking comeback. Sharp wit, funny fucker. Would always rather have a bagel with peanut butter. Didn't complain once. Not even when he had to put up with me in the car.

Greg: Absolutely obsessed with synths and Casio SK-1's. Can go on for hours about U.F.O's. Gets funnier as he gets drunker. Spent a lot of time talking gear and music with him. He has a brilliant moustache, and that may be what got us through the mountains.

Ty: The quiet Jester. Played with my synth gear a lot. Only said things when he had to. Talked to his girlfriend on the phone often. Very nice guy. "A spoonfull of peanut butter and a glass of diet pepsi?".

I'll totally miss them, and I'm hoping for another tour soon. It was deadly awesome. Stories will follow.
-----
.....and on another note of missing people.
A good friend of ours, multi-media artist John Younge, died of a heart attack while we were out on tour. He was a fantastic fellow and made some amazing art. I was floored when I found out. I figured he was just off in Holland doing an exhibition, as he was supposed to. RIP - another man gone before his time.
-----
.....and back to shows and stuff. We'll be playing The Black Pirate's Pub twice in June. June 7th is DefSup's "Patch Party", and the 28th is another awesome Wiggins extravaganza! More info to follow! As well, a new Adaptive release is already in the pipes!

08 May 2008 - 6:11 PM
---------------------------

Check out the shows section for updated tour dates! Check out the merch section for the new album, Glass, which you can pick up for
$12 Postage Paid, or $10 at any of our tour dates. The package is AWESOME. Hand sprayed metal box, with a poster insert, sticker, patch,
pin, and the actual CD itself!!
EVERYBODY should come out to the tour kickoff tomorrow night!!! It`s gonna be fuckin` fun!

02 April 2008 - 6:08 PM
---------------------------

Back with some more news that will kick your ass all over the place. The tour with the Promonium Jesters is starting to gel. So far, we have confirmed:

>> May 9th - Thunder Bay, ON - The Apollo (w/ The Kettle Black, and IGBC)
>> May 15th - Calgary, AB - Soda
>> May 16th - Kelowna, BC - The Grateful Fed
>> May 18th - Vancouver, BC - The Red Room
>> May 23rd - Saskatoon, SK - Walkers

There's a bunch more semi-confirmed dates, as we're waiting for the final word from a few promoters. But rest assured, we will decimate the west.

As well, CD is coming along, but nothing preview worthy yet. It's different by a bit. We'll also have new buttons, shirts, and vinyl stickers available from the online store (as well as from us at shows in Thunder Bay, and on tour) in the next couple of weeks.

From the "I figured this was going to happen" dept: People have been asking for "Salvation". Moreso than when we had it in print. So after we get back from tour, as well as going right back into the studio for a new recording, we will be re-releasing "Salvation" in it's recorded entirety (as well as bonus tracks from both the "Diskust" E.P., and some of the unreleased "M.D.K." album (which was the unreleased bridge between "Diskust" and "Salvation").
If that's not enough, there will be plenty of side-project release action later in the summer.

Anyhow, that's it for now. I'll bug you once again when the new CD is finished. Until then.

16 March 2008 - 12:00 PM
---------------------------

After a short period of not being able to update the page due to login issues, I'm back to dump a ton of news on you. First, Elektronika went amazing! Our visuals froze, but David gave us a quick save by throwing something just as fitting in. The night was absolutely wicked, and all of the bands got in some awesome sets. Thanks to David, Renee, and all who showed up, making it our best show in quite some time.

Since I haven't been able to update the page, a bit of stuff has backed up, including news of our set at DefSup's "Tokyo Pop and Shock Cabaret" on March 22nd. As with last year, this will be another MASSIVE event. 2 venues, 16 bands, 30 acts, and a cast of thousands. It's at Kilroy's & Jack's, starts at 8 PM, and is a mere $8.00 (and that includes being able to roam from venue to venue. Come check it out, and show up EARLY to avoid missing anything! We hit stage at 9:30 at Jack's. Be there to see our last show before we head out on tour in May. Check the "shows" page for more info and poster goodness.

Speaking of the future, we're finishing up the new album now. 8 songs, and a bunch of "not-so-much-songs" (think musique concrete). We're wrapping the guitars and vocals today, and mix will commence sometime this week. It's very crunchy, very distorted. Lots of percussion, lots of synths, lots of drums (3 percussion tracks per song in most cases). Anyhow, we're calling it "Glass". The packaging is shaping up to be pretty mint as well. Silver tin box w/ CD, patch, sticker, button and poster. All for under $10.00! Previews will be available on our myspace page starting next weekend. Unfortunately, we will not be able to have a release show for this (mostly due to tour prepping, and the time it's going to take to assemble these bloody things, but we WILL be playing May 9th at The Apollo with The Promonium Jesters, IGBC, and The Kettle Black as a kickoff for the tour. Consider this your "release show", and come on down. Remember kids, this goes to a good cause. Getting us and the Promonium Jesters gas to get to Winnipeg, and possibly some food. Check the shows page for a poster, and keep your eyes on this page for further album news (*cough cough* free remix mp3's and such *cough cough*)

And lastly, but not leastly, we have some media online for you now. Check out our YouTube page. There's only a couple versions of "Better Ways To Die" up there right now, but as soon as I have the time to get to it, it'll grow. As well, there are pictures of the Seth Desade show up here. Free downloads will follow soon, as with everthing, as soon as I have the time. Anyhow, come check us out on March 22 & May 9th. Tour dates to follow. TTFN.

---------------------------
17 February 2008 - 8:25 A.M.
---------------------------

Well, we made it through the show with Seth Desade, unscathed.
It was a particularly insane Saturday night. Much like all Saturday nights in Thunder Bay. Dipshit totally rocked it! Photographic Evidence exists!
Anyhow, next show is March 1st at Definately Superior Art Gallery. An all electronica night w/ Adaptive Reaction, Kettle Black, IGBC and much more! All ages, even! Check the "shows" page for more info. As well, Defsup is hosting a Circuit Bending workshop on the 23 of Feb at 2PM. Myke will be on hand for a talk and demonstration, hopefully a jam session will happen, and we'll see some videos too. $5, all ages, 250 Park Ave, Lower Level.
Lastly, but not leastly, the CD is edging nearer and nearer. April, maybe?

14 January 2008 - 5:50 A.M.
---------------------------

It's been almost a month, and we now have some fragments of news.
Feb 9th will see us playing Kilroy's with Jordana Divinorum and Seth Desade. 3 new songs on board for this particular set, a bunch of old ones out the window (or at least on ice until a future date).
We also have 2 shows booked for March, one is the 1st, and another is something like the 28th. The 1st should be fun, as it'll be at Definately Superior, and the bill will be a lot more fitting than most of the ones we've been on. More news when flyers become available.

In other live news, May will see us head out west with The Promonium Jesters (or at least that's the plan for now). Fingers crossed, hope we make it to Vancouver.

We were hoping to have the new disc done by the end of the holidays, but of course life intervenes as per usual. Only a few vocals left to go, though. I'm thinking it'll be ready for pressing by sometime in March (save for plagues of locusts). Looks like about 12 songs, with new recordings of "The Dumb Leading The Blind" and "Eyes". As well, a longtime fan favourite "Heal Me" will end up with a proper release (up until recently, it's only been available on a now out of print benefit compilation.).

Anyhow, keep your eyes open. Much is afoot.

---------------------------
20 December 2007 - 12:15 A.M.
---------------------------

Recording of the newest Adaptive Reaction album is pretty much set to be wrapped in the next 11 days or so. As far as when it gets out is a different story. We're hoping to have it all juggled about and mixed by the end of January, and after that it's all a matter of manufacturing turnaround.

"Salvation" is totally out of print. We're hoping to re-issue it eventually, coupled with a bunch of earlier recordings, demos and other garbage for obsessive nerds.

We're also currently in talks to tour Western Canada in May 2008. More to come on this in the near future. Speaking of shows, the next one is apparently in February. Currently, schedules slightly conflict, but it'll be a bit more spread out after the holidays.

Happy holidays and all that other stuff. Really. No sarcasm. Not at all.

Last night's Hunger Cabaret was a tremendous success. Our set went over especially well, and thanks go out to all of the people who came out to support the event, especially those who shook their asses to us.

So if you don't know by now, we've released a new single.
"The Dumb Leading The Blind" is straight up chugging industrial rock, featuring our merch boy and guitar god, Kyle Beckerton in his recorded debut.
"Eyes" is a nice little ditty about burning down the suburbs.

This is the new sound, motherfuckers!
$3 gets you a copy through the mail. E-mail us, and we'll set you up with our paypal. Or you can grab our mailing address from the "Merch" page, and send us some dough.

17 October 2007 - 1:05 A.M.

Presently Adaptive is in the studio finishing up their new CD, entitled "Wired To Self Destruct".
In the short time since Irrelevant, we found a label, lost a label, and have played some great shows. We logged a lot of studio hours as well. Wired is shaping up to be something very special to us, and hopefully something at least a few people will find worth listening to when it comes out.
As you'll notice, the site is changed and under new management (namely, our own). Presently, it's a bit bare. We wanted to get a new working model up and running to replace the old one. Much easier to navigate, and will be finished soon. We're waiting on permission for some photos, and gathering some more link information. So check back, and watch the "coming soon" sections disappear.
Mailorder is the same as always, but you can now pay via paypal (buttons aren't running yet, but you can e-mail for our account information). New shirts and stuff are coming soon, as well as a full digital release of both Wired and Irrelevant.
But we won't get ahead of ourselves. Important things first.
We're playing again on Oct 27th for the next DefSup Halloween Cabaret. Check this page for poster and extended info
